in the aftermath

The aftermath makes it sound so neat and tidy and yet life is anything but.  Messy, dirty, stinking is life.  And katrina has shown us all exactly how stinking it really can be.  The whole thing seems designed to create sentences that end with prepositions.

Canada is such a safe and middle classed environment.  Even the new age natives who run the bottle trapline in my neighbourhood have not been exposed to such tragedy.  Of course our government has seen fit to throw money at them for years so they are used to being able to access services, should they choose to.  See, again!

But the US is not canada and it becomes more evidnet with each day.  People cannot get services or emergnecy aid within a time frame needed to save lives.  Who needs a war or pestilence when mother nature can take care of it all?
